About This Role
We are seeking a nurturing and creative Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team in Addison, VT. In this role, you will design a safe, engaging, and play-based learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children. You will build strong partnerships with families to support each child's unique learning journey during these foundational years.
What You'll Do
- Plan and implement age-appropriate, play-based curricula that align with Vermont Early Learning Standards (VELS).
- Cultivate a warm, inclusive classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to explore.
- Observe and assess individual child development to tailor activities and support diverse learning needs.
- Maintain regular, open communication with parents and guardians regarding daily activities, milestones, and progress.
Requirements
- Sound understanding of early childhood development principles and positive guidance techniques.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills.
- Fundamentals, mandated reporting, and Vermont Orientation Training.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working in a Vermont Bright Futures recognized program or familiarity with STARS ratings.
- Certification in Pediatric First Aid and CPR.
- Training or experience in trauma-informed care or supporting children with special exceptionalities.
What You'll Do
- Know and follow CDD Child Care Licensing Regulations
- Planning, preparing, and implementing a curriculum that aligns with the Vermont Early Learning Standards/TSG
- Healthy classroom management skills.
- Maintaining a clean and organized classroom.
- Develop positive relationships with children, co-workers, families, and external personnel.
- Constantly shows up and wants to work as part of a team.
Requirements
- Experience with young children in a professional setting.
- Minimum Fundamentals.
- Vermont 9-hour orientation and mandated reporting.
- Infant and Child CPR/First Aid.
