Job Title: Mental Health Technician
Location: Gove Estate, IN Peru
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Mental Health Technician to join our team at Gove Estate in Peru. In this role, you will provide direct support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, helping to promote their safety, well-being, independence, and recovery. You will work closely with mental health professionals to deliver high-quality, person-centered care in a supportive and respectful environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and emotional support to clients.
- Observe, monitor, and accurately document clients' behavior, mood, and progress.
- Assist clients with daily living activities and encourage independence where appropriate.
- Support therapeutic, recreational, and rehabilitation activities.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
- Respond calmly and effectively during emergencies or behavioral crises, following established procedures.
- Build positive, professional relationships with clients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Ensure confidentiality and comply with all relevant policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Assist with medication support as directed by licensed healthcare professionals and within the scope of the role.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Certificate or diploma in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing Assistant, or a related healthcare field preferred.
- Previous experience working in mental health, behavioral health, disability support, or healthcare is an advantage.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations.
- Strong observation, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
