What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preteen Ministry Worship Coordinator position at THE GROVE COMMUNITY CHURCH?
The Grove’s Preteen Ministry exists to create an environment and community where 5th and 6th grade students can be introduced to Jesus and transformed by him. The Preteen Ministry Worship Coordinator position creates environments for students to worship God, while also raising up a new generation of worship musicians. As a part of the Preteen ministry team, this position plays a significant role in strategizing as well as assessing and evaluating youth ministry initiatives.
Reports to: Preteen Ministry Director
Works with: Preteen Ministry team, worship musicians, volunteers
Works: Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, exempt
WORSHIP MUSIC – 60%
- Lead worship in Preteen services.
- Schedule musicians and conduct rehearsals.
- Train and raise up musicians from student ministries; coordinate and conduct auditions as needed.
- Coordinate techs for Preteen services - recruit, train and schedule AV tech volunteers.
- Set up and operate audio/visual equipment as needed.
MINISTRY LEADERHIP – 30%
- Serve as part of the Preteen Ministry leadership team, which crafts vision, mission and values of the Preteen Ministry.
- Teach as needed on weekends or midweek.
- Lead a small group during services.
- Lead and disciple 5th and 6th grade students.
- Assist with logistics and details of weekend and Wednesday night services.
- Attend and staff services, summer camp and special events.
OTHER MINISTRY – 10%
- Cultivate intimacy with God and growth in Christ-like character through personal and corporate spiritual disciplines.
- Attend church all-staff meetings, devotions, and trainings.
