The Grove’s Outreach Team works to reach our world for Christ, and to equip the church in carrying out Jesus’ commission to reach all people throughout the whole world (Acts 1:8). The Local Outreach Ministry Assistant helps develop and implement outreach initiatives within The Grove’s local community, serving and engaging in a natural way with the marginalized and those from other cultures. This position works closely with the Local Outreach Pastor and the Global Partner Care and Engage Ministry Director, combining administrative skill with a heart and vision for outreach ministry.
Reports to: Local Outreach Pastor & Global Partner Care and Engage Ministry Director
Works with: HR team, Accounting team, ministry department staff, volunteers
Works: Part-time, Approximately 25 hours per week, Salary
ADMINISTRATIVE OVERSIGHT – 60%
- Oversee, manage and maintain all aspects of volunteer database, including processing volunteer applications, workflows, and background checks for local outreach.
- Schedule meetings and prepare handouts and other materials.
- Maintain accurate and organized records using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Assist with planning, publicity, and support for events.
- Coordinate financial responsibilities for local outreach—purchase orders, reimbursement requests, etc.
- Serve as point of contact for communications with volunteers, sponsors and others.
- Manage supplies.
MINISTRY LEADERSHIP – 30%
- Assist with leading local outreach events—provide oversight, direct volunteers, and ensure event alignment with ministry vision and objectives.
- Teach Engage Class or ESL Class as needed.
- Lead group prayer times for outreach initiatives and specific individuals.
- Assist with developing volunteers.
OTHER MINISTRY – 10%
- Cultivate intimacy with God and growth in Christ-like character through personal and corporate spiritual disciplines.
- Attend outreach team meetings, church all-staff meetings, devotions, and trainings; lead staff devotions.
