The Line Cook plays an essential role in this ministry by preparing and serving fresh, high-quality menu items while ensuring a consistent and excellent dining experience. This position requires someone who enjoys serving behind the scenes, takes pride in preparing food with accuracy and consistency, thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment, maintains the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness, and contributes to a positive, team-oriented culture that reflects The Grove’s commitment to hospitality and excellence.
Reports to: Kitchen Manager
Works with: Hub staff and volunteers
Works: Part time, Hourly, Approximately 25 hours per week; weekends mandatory
FOOD – 85%
- Assist Kitchen Manager and Prep Cooks.
- Prepare food for café open hours.
- Perform frequent checks to ensure consistent high quality of preparation and service.
- Ensure sanitary practices for food handling, cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas; comply with all health and safety regulations.
OTHER – 15%
- Clean and maintain all kitchen area and equipment.
- Deep cleaning of kitchen, walk in, freezer and Hub areas once per week.
- Stock supplies from the back of house to front of house once per week.
- Receive orders when needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- Riverside County Food Handler’s Permit.
