Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing to meet each pet’s specific needs and breed standards
- Handle dogs safely and confidently using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure a stress-free experience for pets and staff
- Assess each dog’s coat condition, skin health, and temperament to determine appropriate grooming procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools, workstations, and bathing areas to uphold hygiene standards
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming preferences, special needs, and aftercare instructions
- Assist with pet handling during grooming sessions, ensuring gentle yet secure control of animals of various sizes and temperaments
- Support pet care routines such as nail trimming, ear cleaning, and minor veterinary-related tasks when necessary
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming or related animal care roles such as veterinary technician or assistant
- Strong dog handling skills with knowledge of animal restraint and behavior management techniques
- Familiarity with pet grooming tools, products, and safety procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to lift or move animals safely
- Knowledge of dog training principles and veterinary experience is a plus but not mandatory
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Prior kennel experience or animal handling background enhances your suitability for this role
- A genuine passion for animal care combined with a positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
Pay: $35,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
