Position: Early Intervention PTA
Program Focus: Infant and Toddler Development
?? Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with physical therapists to implement individualized treatment plans for infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities.
Conduct assessments and gather relevant patient information to contribute to the formulation of intervention goals.
Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions, exercises, and activities to enhance motor skills, balance, and coordination in young children.
Work closely with parents and caregivers to educate and demonstrate home exercises and activities to support ongoing therapy goals.
Document and maintain accurate records of patient progress, treatment plans, and communication with other healthcare professionals.
Attend and actively participate in team meetings, coordinating efforts with occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other members of the early intervention team.
Implement assistive devices and adaptive equipment as recommended by the supervising physical therapist.
Stay informed about current best practices and evidence-based interventions in early intervention physical therapy.
Foster a supportive and encouraging environment to promote optimal development and achievement of developmental milestones.
?? Qualifications:
Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred; Valid RI licensure as a PTA required.
2 years' experience providing treatment to infants and toddlers (birth to age three) in a family-focused, home-based setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in the trans-disciplinary provision of services required.
Commitment to a family-centered, compassionate approach.
Advanced knowledge in one or more special treatment areas, such as NDT, second language and/or experience working with minority racial, ethnic, and immigrant populations preferred.
Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
CPR/FA Certification required.
Must have a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and safe driving record.
