Full-Time Associate Director of Children's Community Based Program Needed in Rhode Island!

Schedule: Full-Time; 40 hours per week

Salary: $75,000- $90,000 Annually
 

The Associate Director of Children's Community-Based Programs provides leadership, administrative support, and operational oversight for the agency's community-based children's services, including Treatment Foster Care (TFC), Family Preservation Program (FPP), Parent Family Education Program (PFEP), Home Therapeutic Services (HTS), PASS, and related programs.

Working in partnership with the Program Director, the Associate Director is responsible for supporting program operations, supervising staff, monitoring service delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting quality outcomes for children and families. The Associate Director serves as a member of the program leadership team and plays a critical role in maintaining efficient operations, supporting staff development, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality services.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Health as a LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, BCBA, or Other relevant professional licensure
  • Education: Master's or Doctorate Degree Required in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Behavior Analysis, Special Education, or a related behavioral health field
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory or leadership experience within behavioral health, child welfare, developmental disabilities, or related human services programs
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in community-based settings
  • Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams and managing service delivery
  • Knowledge of child-serving systems, including DCYF, Medicaid, managed care organizations, and community-based behavioral health services
  • Experience with quality assurance, program monitoring, and regulatory compliance


Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
  • Knowledge/experience in behavioral interventions
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, evidence-based practices, and family-centered treatment approaches
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid, and Safety Care certification
  • Ability to travel throughout the community and between program locations as needed
  • Availability for occasional evening, weekend, and emergency response responsibilities


Responsibilities Required:

  • Assist in the oversight and management of all Children's Community-Based Programs
  • Support the implementation of program goals, strategic initiatives, and organizational priorities
  • Monitor program operations to ensure services are delivered efficiently and effectively
  • Identify operational challenges and develop solutions to improve service delivery and program performance
  • Serve as a resource to supervisors and staff regarding program policies, procedures, and expectations
  • Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Program Director
  • Provide direct supervision to assigned Clinical Supervisors, Case Managers, Clinicians, and Interns
  • Support recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, training, and retention efforts
  • Assist in conducting employee evaluations and performance management activities
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable work environment
  • Support staff in managing complex cases, family dynamics, and crisis situations
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, contractual obligations, licensing standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor documentation quality, productivity expectations, and service delivery standards
  • Participate in internal audits, licensing reviews, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Assist with data collection, reporting, and outcome monitoring
  • Ensure timely completion of treatment plans, progress reports, authorizations, and required program documentation
  • Participate in case reviews, strategic planning activities, agency committees meetings, multidisciplinary meetings, and treatment team discussions
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with families, referral sources, community partners, schools, hospitals, and state agencies
  • Assist in addressing concerns and resolving service-related issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist with monitoring program budgets, staffing needs, and resource allocation
  • Prepare reports and documentation required by funding sources, licensing bodies, and organizational leadership
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities as assigned
