The Griswold Inn has been welcoming guests since 1776. Today, our restaurant operation encompasses our Historic Dining Rooms, a lively Tap Room, our Wine Bar & Bistro, and seasonal outdoor dining - more than 227 seats united by one commitment to warm, thoughtful hospitality.
We’re looking for a dependable, energetic food runner to help deliver orders promptly and accurately from the kitchen to guests. The food runner supports servers and kitchen staff, keeps service flowing smoothly, and helps maintain a welcoming dining environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver food and beverages to the correct tables promptly.
- Confirm dishes match order tickets and presentation standards.
- Communicate with kitchen staff about order status, special requests, and delays.
- Assist servers with clearing tables, refilling water, and other service needs.
- Set up and breakdown of all mise en place including garnishes, serviettes and serving utensils
- Keep service areas clean, organized, and stocked.
- Follow food-safety, sanitation, and restaurant procedures.
- Respond courteously to guest questions and requests, involving a server when needed.
Qualifications
- Strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Friendly, professional attitude and willingness to learn.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and carry trays or plates safely.
Pay: $16.94 - $27.65 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 – 40.0 per week
