The Greer Group is seeking an Insurance Verification / Revenue Cycle Specialist for a local Behavioral Health and Counseling client. This is a remote, temporary-to-permanent opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented professional with experience in medical insurance verification and revenue cycle functions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate insurance verification and eligibility.
- Verify benefits and insurance coverage.
- Obtain prior authorizations as needed.
- Enter patient and insurance information into the EHR.
- Scan and maintain patient records within the EHR system.
- Update client payment information, including credit cards, in the EHR.
- Perform account reconciliation.
- Manage provider credentialing, including submitting applications, making amendments, and following up on credentialing status.
- Maintain compliance with company policies regarding voicemail, patient communications, and other administrative procedures.
- Schedule client appointments as needed.
- Provide coverage and administrative support for the Office Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Previous medical insurance/healthcare revenue experience required.
- Behavioral health experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with insurance verification, benefits, and eligibility.
- Familiarity with behavioral health insurance plans such as Optum, Carelon, or Magellan is a plus.
- Prior authorization experience preferred.
- Experience working in an EHR; SimplePractice experience is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with verification/eligibility platforms such as pVerify or Availity is a plus.
- Comfortable learning and navigating multiple software systems.
- Experience with work/project management systems such as Wrike, Monday.com, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Highly adaptable and comfortable working independently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow up consistently and methodically.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently in a HIPAA-compliant remote environment.
