The Greer Group has a great opportunity for a Production Specialist in the Asheville, NC area!
This is a temp-to-hire role paying $20/hour supporting the manufacturing of fiber optic connectors through assembly, testing, and inspection to ensure high-quality, performance-driven products.
Production Specialist
What You’ll Do
- Assemble fiber optic, mechanical, and electronic connector components using work instructions and BOMs
- Operate production equipment including IDC insertion machines and solder pots
- Perform polishing, cleaving, epoxy curing, and other production processes
- Inspect and test connectors and cables for quality, accuracy, and performance standards
- Operate test equipment such as interferometers, insertion loss testers, OTDRs, and PCB test systems
- Record production and test data accurately to ensure full traceability
- Follow safety, ESD, and cleanroom procedures
- Support troubleshooting and process improvement efforts
What We’re Looking For
- 2-year degree in electronics, mechanics, or industrial technology OR 3–5 years of manufacturing experience
- Soldering and hands-on production experience preferred
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
- Experience with precision measurement and testing equipment is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and quality focus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
