What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Cost Estimator V position at The Greenridge Group?
The Greenridge Group, a prime contractor and consulting firm specializing in Project and Construction Management is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator V to support the LAWA-Terminal 5 Improvement Project (TDIP). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mega aviation projects, demonstrate deep proficiency in large-scale estimating software, and bring at least 20 years of general estimating experience.
*Salary Range: $210K/Year-$225K/Year - Dependent on Candidate's Qualifications
Key Responsibilities- Develop both conceptual and detailed cost estimates across multiple scopes of work.
- Lead and manage estimating teams; train and mentor junior estimators as needed.
- Review construction and design cost proposals and change order requests; assist in determining merit.
- Ensure labor rates, markups, quantities, and productivity conform to contract specifications and represent fair scope.
- Validate material pricing using R.S. Means and other cost references.
- Review contract documents and modifications to determine scope of work and equitable cost allowances.
- Reconcile contractor, internal, and third-party estimates.
- Establish and maintain a routine reporting cycle communicating estimate changes and rationale.
- Maintain historical cost data for future estimating and reference.
- Collaborate closely with project management and other estimating resources throughout estimate development.
- Ensure all deliverables are accurate, reliable, and complete.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 20 years of general estimating experience, including work on large or complex projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in Progressive Design-Build and CMAR delivery methods.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex estimate reconciliations and change order negotiations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and major industry estimating software tools.
