Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Manufacturing and Shipping Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is primarily hands-on and involves the fabrication of greenhouse components using steel tubing and aluminum. The ideal candidate will have prior manufacturing experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture greenhouse components by bending, punching, cutting, and drilling steel tubing and aluminum according to engineering drawings and blueprints
- Read and interpret engineering documents, specifications, and measurements accurately
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely
- Perform inventory counts and track materials
- Organize materials and finished goods for efficient retrieval and shipment
- Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments according to company standards
- Verify shipping documents for accuracy and schedule pickups/deliveries with carriers
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming materials
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
- Document damaged materials and report discrepancies
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized manufacturing facility
- Perform other job duties as required
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous manufacturing experience required
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and instructions
- Forklift operation experience preferred (or willingness to become certified)
- Welding certification desired, but not required (the welding portion of the job is limited)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to continuously lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and work with precise measurements
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and quality-focused mindset
Preferred (but not required)
- Experience in metal fabrication or structural manufacturing
- Welding certification desired, but not required
Background check and drug test required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Pay is negotiable and is based on experience and the ability to excel in the position
Expected hours: 40 per week
