Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, high-energy Assistant General Manager (AGM) with a proven track record in the New Mexico cannabis market. This is a hands-on, "Working Manager" position. You will spend the majority of your shift on the sales floor working directly behind a POS computer, conducting retail sales, and delivering top-tier service to our customers and patients. Management, compliance, and administrative responsibilities will be dynamically managed and executed during downtime between sales.
The ideal candidate is a master multitasker, a positive team coach, and a tech-savvy professional who can smoothly support multiple retail locations in Lincoln County, step into the trenches to cover shifts, and keep our operational documentation flawless.
Key Responsibilities1. Frontline Retail Sales & Customer Service
- Active POS Operation: Spend scheduled shifts actively working behind a POS station, processing transactions, greeting customers, and executing daily retail sales.
- Downtime Management: Efficiently utilize gaps between customer traffic to complete vital management tasks, compliance documentation, and store upkeep.
- Lead by Example: Demonstrate elite budtending skills, deep product knowledge, and compliant sales practices for the rest of the staff to emulate.
2. Compliance, Document Management & Daily Audits
- Daily Inventory Control: Oversee and execute meticulous Daily Inventory Counts to guarantee immediate accuracy between physical stock and digital records.
- System Maintenance: Utilize BioTrackTHC (New Mexico's state-mandated traceability framework) for daily inventory tracking, tracking transfers, and reconciling sales data.
- Document Architecture: Organize, file, and archive all critical compliance documents, ensuring they are instantly accessible for regulatory inspectors or executive review. This includes:
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Assisting in training staff on retail SOPs to reflect shifting NM state laws.
- Transport Manifests: Verifying, signing, and properly filing all incoming/outgoing transport manifests.
- Invoices: Reconciling purchase orders against vendor invoices.
- Certificates of Analysis (COAs): Reviewing and filing all lab testing results to guarantee every product on the shelf is fully compliant.
3. Team Coaching, Motivation & Culture
- Positive Attitude: Bring a contagious, positive energy to the sales floor every day, fostering an environment rooted in hospitality, respect, and professionalism.
- Continuous Learning: Actively coach, train, and develop budtenders on the floor to build deep product knowledge, compliance awareness, and advanced customer service skills.
- Digital Communication: Maintain absolute fluency in Slack and other digital tools to keep teams aligned, informed, and connected across shifts and locations.
4. Multi-Site Operations & Agility
- Multi-Location Support: Support management and oversee dispensary operations across multiple locations within Lincoln County.
- Shift Coverage: Maintain a highly hands-on approach with the ability to cover shifts and fill operational gaps at short notice to ensure the retail floors are always properly staffed and compliant.
Required Qualifications & ExperienceNote on Mandatory Screening: Applicants who do not meet the New Mexico residency, software experience, and travel requirements will not be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 years of direct Dispensary Management or Lead Supervisor experience within the state of New Mexico.
- Technical & Computer Skills: Must be highly computer savvy. Advanced, hands-on proficiency with BioTrackTHC, Google Drive, and daily professional communication via Slack is required.
- Dual-Role Capability: Proven ability to balance high-volume retail sales with administrative duties in a fast-paced environment.
- Compliance & Inventory Mastery: Demonstrated experience handling Daily Inventory Counts and a history of managing complex file structures (SOPs, Manifests, Invoices, and COAs). Deep working knowledge of the NM Cannabis Control Division (CCD) rules.
- Physical & Schedule Flexibility: Ability to stand and work behind a POS station for the duration of a shift. Reliable transportation and a willingness to work at and travel between multiple locations within Lincoln County, including the flexibility to cover shifts as needed.
- Background: Must be at least 21 years old and capable of passing a state-mandated criminal background check to obtain an NM Cannabis Server Permit / Badge.
