What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant-Development Accounting Group position at The Green Company?
Overview:
This position will report to and work with the Controller for the Company's Development Group. The responsibilities are broad including financial and administrative activities. This position works closely with the construction operations and the sales department. This is a full time permanent position in our Plymouth Office.
Responsibilities:
•Manage and oversee all aspects of the monthly GL close for several entities
•Responsible for preparation and reconciliation of all monthly workpapers supporting the GL and financial statements
•Assist and prepare year end workpapers for the preparation of entity tax returns by a 3rd party CPA firm
•Maintain several financial schedules on a weekly or monthly basis as required by management
•Preparation of Weekly Accounting and Management Reports, as needed
•Conduct Treasury management processes for all entities
•Monitor AP coding with proper cost category
•1099 maintenance and year end reporting
•Assist the Controller in preparing and updating short term and long term cost budgets, and revenue forecast models
•Monitor the accounting / cost information including the cost item data base for the company's ERP system
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting
•Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in accounting with experience in the construction industry or related project accounting
•Extensive knowledge of standard accounting policies and procedures
•Outstanding team player and with good interpersonal skills
•Self-starter with good verbal and written communication skills
•Excellent data entry skills, with strong attention to detail
•Dedicated and hard working
•Knowledge of Sage Timberline Software a plus
