Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs in a friendly, professional manner
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions accurately and quickly
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision and confidence, ensuring proper cash handling procedures
- Provide product demos and upsell items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Assist with inventory management through stocking, product rotation, and stock replenishment
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining phone etiquette when assisting via phone
Requirements
- Previous experience with POS systems and cashiering is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customers effectively
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills are a plus for those interested in growth opportunities
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling, retail math calculations, and sales transactions
- Experience working in a grocery store or retail environment is advantageous but not mandatory
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional phone etiquette
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
