Essential Functions

  • Serves as Reimbursement Officer
  • For all Title IV-E and Medicaid eligible youth in care, determines ongoing eligibility/claimability throughout the life of the case through the review and analysis of reports, change notices, and the monthly Streamline process
  • Reviews and completes determination of Title IV-E eligibility on adoption assistance (AA) cases and completes redetermination at age 18
  • Determines Medicaid eligibility for COBRA (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) for both the foster care and adoption assistance population of children placed out of state
  • Completes and reviews all long term care budgeting and enrollment paperwork and maintains verbal and written contact with the DHS Long Term Care Unit for children placed in nursing homes or mental health facilities
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college with courses in accounting, economics, or business administration, preferably including courses in insurance, estate, and probate law
  • Requires one year of work experience in the reimbursement field
