Position Overview:
The Group Leader plays a vital role in guiding, mentoring, and supervising participants in daily afterschool & Summer activities. This position is ideal for energetic, caring individuals who enjoy working with children and are passionate about helping them reach their full potential. Group Leaders serve as positive role models, ensuring that all participants feel included, valued, and encouraged to learn and grow.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be available to work Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage a group of participants in structured and unstructured activities, including homework help, enrichment projects, and physical activity.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and kindness.
- Assist Instructors/Activity Specialists in implementing lessons. • Support participants’ academic and social development through encouragement, mentorship, and positive reinforcement.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and always ensure participant safety.
- Communicate effectively with program staff and participants.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and special events.
- Serve as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to the GRYC’s mission and values.
Salary : $17 - $21
