POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Wellness Coaches positively engage with members and guests and maintain a clean, safe, and friendly environment in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Engage in positive interactions with members, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
· Conduct Explore the Y Cause Driven tours and collaborate with Member Services Staff to communicate well-being opportunities to all members and guests.
- Monitor designated Wellness Floor area in a highly visible manner and sanitize equipment and surfaces to ensure a clean, safe environment for all members.
- Answer questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintain working knowledge of healthy living initiatives to provide accurate information and support to members.
· Promote programs, services, special events and wellness challenges to members and guests.
· Build effective, authentic relationships with members; help members connect with each other and the YMCA.
· Monitor member satisfaction and engagement, equipment status and supply needs to provide insight to supervisor on status of overall wellness areas.
· Follow YMCA policies and procedures; respond to emergency situations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be committed to and supportive of the Y mission with an emphasis on support and empathy to health seekers.
2. Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
3. Must have good verbal and written communication, as well as strong relationship building skills.
4. Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
5. High school graduate or equivalent required.
6. Must obtain CPR/First Aid/AED training within 30 days of hire if not already certified.
7. Must be at least 18 years of age.
