Math Instructional Coach for Grades 6-12
New Position for 2026-2027
The Math Instructional Coach will support staff in the implementation of the Local Mathematics Plan, including district approved curricular materials and relevant professional learning. The Coach will work directly with teachers in a school providing classroom-based demonstrations, collaborative and one-on-one support, and facilitating teacher inquiry and related professional development. The Coach will focus on enhancing teachers\' ability to provide instruction that builds students\' sense of engagement in the ownership of learning. The Coach will also work with administrators and teachers to collect and analyze data, interpret, and use it to guide instructional decisions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor\'s degree & Master\'s degree preferred
- Valid Ohio Department of Education License
- Deep knowledge of the development of mathematics concepts & skills
- Minimum of 10 years teaching experience
- A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
- Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies
- Strong written and oral communication skills and strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
- Supports the development of high quality/effective math instruction, including observing and coaching teachers to improve instructional planning, teaching practice, small-group instruction, and the use of data, assessment and instructional
- Participates in TBT meetings to assist in the analysis and utilization of assessment data to improve the focus of instructional planning and student achievement.
- Collaborates with Teacher Based Teams, administrators and Curriculum Director to develop both school wide and classroom intervention plans and assist in setting goals for improved instruction to aid in supporting the RTI/MTSS process.
- Collaborates with administrators and Curriculum Director to plan and deliver professional development for new and returning staff members aligned to high priority interventions and supports for students.
- Monitors and assists teachers in the implementation of the approved math curriculum and pacing for instruction.
- Participates fully in professional development opportunities and professional research and reading. Attends meetings and trainings as directed.
- Prepares forms, records and reports as directed.
- Maintains strict confidentiality at all times
- Serves as a role model for students and adhere to ethical and professional standards
- Reports suspected child abuse and/or neglect to civil authorities as required by law.
- Maintains a professional appearance. Wears work attire appropriate for the position.
- Performs other specific job-related duties as directed.
185 day contract and salary commensurate with experience/education per the WCHCS teacher salary schedule
