We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Kitchen Lead who is fluent in both English and Spanish to join our dynamic culinary team. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation according to company standards.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including shift management, inventory control, and food safety compliance.
- Train and develop team members on food handling, cooking techniques, POS systems (Aloha POS, Micros POS), and customer service protocols.
- Manage food production processes to maintain quality, consistency, and timely service in a quick-service or casual dining setting.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems and perform cash handling duties during shifts.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and control food costs to stay within budget.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including proper food safety practices and sanitation standards.
- Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding new staff, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Support restaurant management in budgeting efforts, labor scheduling, and overall food service management.
- Foster a positive team environment through effective supervision, motivation, and conflict resolution.
- Participate in catering events or banquet services as required; support bar or coffee station operations if applicable.
- Maintain excellent customer service standards by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation within a quick-service or casual dining restaurant; fine dining or hotel experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with supervising experience in a hospitality or restaurant setting.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with diverse team members and guests.
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; cash handling experience essential.
- Knowledge of inventory control, food safety regulations, and kitchen management best practices.
- Excellent cooking skills across various cuisines; ability to train staff on culinary techniques.
- Experience managing shift schedules, budgeting, and food production processes.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle high-pressure situations gracefully.
- Demonstrated ability to train & develop staff while fostering teamwork and leadership qualities
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
