What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carpenter position at The Great Escape Room?
The Great Escape Room is looking for a Carpenter to join our team at our workshop in Longwood, FL. This position is a 6 month temporary position. The position entails constructing our props for our experiences. The ideal candidate will have a sense of how to use basic tools, follow directions and possibly traveling for days at a time.
Only candidates who are qualified for the position will be contacted for an interview.
DUTIES
-Assist our workshop crew implementing our prefabricated rooms at our locations across the country
-Repair broken parts, pieces, puzzles, props on site if damaged in transit
-Safely use hand and power tools
-Maintain clean and functional work space
-Collaborate with the team to work safely on the projects
*Willingness to travel is a plus
SKILLS NEEDED:
-Basic carpentry skills including using, drills, and hand tools.
-Finished Carpentry Skills
-Rough Carpentry Skills - building an interior wall
-Be able to read & understand build drawings, tape measures & levels
-Must be able to follow instructions and processes
-Must be able to work as part of a team
- Ability to paint interior spaces and props with latex and spray paints is strongly preferred
-Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
-Must be reliable and compliant to our company code of conduct
The successful candidate will have the skills necessary to prioritize and complete tasks as needed and have the capability to understand the mission and policies of The Great Escape Room.
This position requires you to work from our Longwood, FL workshop.
Salary: $20 per hour
*Additional Stipulations: The Great Escape Room will pay for the travel costs and living accommodations of our Carpenters (usually via vehicular transportation, but sometimes air travel is necessary) for the project installs.
