Activity Assistant
The GrayBrier Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Archdale, NC is currently accepting applications for a full-time Activity Assistant for our skilled nursing facility.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist Activity Director in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activity programs of the facility
- Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement so the facility activities and resident’s progress are evaluated, by noting, reporting, and charting resident behavior
- Provide hands-on involvement in programs during the residents scheduled times
- Assist in the planning, orientation and supervision of volunteers
- Support the activities director in exploring opportunities for resident socialization and engagement
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with other departments within the facility to assure that daily activities can be performed without interruption
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility
Required skills and qualifications include:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior activities experience is helpful, but not essential
- Nurse Aide experience is also a huge plus
- Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
- Must enjoy working with the senior population
