The Gray Academy is looking for an energetic, dependable, and passionate Lead Pre-K Teacher to join our growing team. We believe children learn best through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships—and we’re looking for someone who shares that philosophy.
What You’ll Do
- Create and implement your own engaging, age-appropriate preschool curriculum.
- Plan exciting daily lesson plans that encourage learning through play.
- Foster a classroom filled with creativity, kindness, and curiosity.
- Prepare children for kindergarten through hands-on learning experiences.
- Observe and document each child’s developmental progress.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow teachers.
- Communicate with parents regarding classroom activities and student progress.
- Ensure compliance with DCFS licensing standards.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Loves working with preschool-aged children.
- Is energetic, positive, patient, and dependable.
- Has strong classroom management skills.
- Is knowledgeable in preschool lesson planning and child development.
- Enjoys thinking outside the box and creating fun learning experiences.
- Is attentive to children’s individual needs and learning styles.
- Works well as part of a supportive team.
- Has excellent communication and organizational skills.
Qualifications
- CDA (Child Development Associate) Credential or Early Childhood Education Certificate or Degree (required).
- Previous preschool teaching experience preferred.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must successfully pass all background check requirements.
