What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Line Cook position at The Granola Bar?
The Granola Bar is looking for an experienced and talented candidate to join our kitchen team! As a Lead Line Cook at The Granola Bar, you will be responsible for working with the Kitchen Director to maintain operation standards and reach goals. Your experience and team-orientated skills will be critical in leading the cook line to success. You will also be responsible for preparing food to the exact specifications and setting up stations for menu items. You will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and standards.
- Work with Kitchen Director to implement policy
- Work with Kitchen Director to maintain compliance adherence
- Collaborate with restaurant leadership on company initiatives
- Train new and current team members to role-readiness
- Ordering from food vendors under the guidance of the Kitchen Director
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.
- Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Monitor food stock and place orders as needed.
- Assist in inventory management and control.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Follow all safety, hygiene, and kitchen protocol.
Requirements:
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Chef, Restaurant Cook
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
- Familiar with industry best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
- ServSafe Certification
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
