Responsibilities:
- Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area to ensure a safe, positive environment
- Enforce pool rules and YMCA safety policies
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and water rescues
- Complete safety checks and maintain accurate incident reports
- Build positive relationships with members, participants, and staff
- Assist with cleaning, equipment checks, and maintaining pool readiness
- Attend required trainings and proactively communicate scheduling needs
Qualifications:
- Lifeguard certification (YMCA or Red Cross) or ability to obtain
- Ability to stay alert and respond calmly in high-pressure situations
- Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
- Must meet physical requirements of lifeguarding (swimming, endurance, etc.)
Position Details:
- Part-time and full-time opportunities available
- Flexible shifts offered throughout the week
- Pay range $14.25 - $17.55hr, based on experience
