The Grand Rehabilitation & Nursing at Barnwell is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Plant Operations to oversee the maintenance, housekeeping, and overall facility management at our skilled nursing facility. This is a crucial leadership role within our organization that ensures our facility is well-maintained, compliant with safety regulations, and provides a comfortable, efficient environment for residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
Facility Inspections & Safety Oversight: Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure all areas meet safety, cleanliness, and operational standards. This includes inspecting equipment performance, building conditions, and identifying areas needing repair or maintenance.
Management of Maintenance and Housekeeping Teams: Supervise, assign, and coordinate the daily tasks of the maintenance and housekeeping staff to ensure efficient operations. Oversee team schedules and performance, ensuring that tasks are completed in a timely and effective manner. Provide guidance and training as needed.
Scheduling and Completion of Repairs: Ensure all required maintenance and repairs are scheduled and completed promptly. Monitor ongoing repairs to ensure they are done to high standards.
Vendor and Contract Management: Provide oversight of contracted services for maintenance, repairs, and janitorial services. Ensure that all contracted services are completed on time and in accordance with the terms of the agreements.
Record Maintenance: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all repairs, preventative maintenance, warranties, and inspections. Ensure compliance with facility standards and regulatory requirements.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all maintenance work complies with Local, State, Federal, and OSHA standards. Be knowledgeable about the Life Safety Code and requirements from the Department of Health (DOH) and CMS. Ensure that the facility is always in compliance with relevant regulations.
Emergency Response & On-Call Availability: Be available to handle emergency situations and facility issues that require immediate attention, including on-call responsibilities for after-hours emergencies.
Leadership & Staff Development: Provide strong leadership to the plant operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and excellence. Assist with training and development opportunities for team members to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their jobs efficiently.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional technical certifications or college coursework in building management, facilities management, or a related field is a plus.
Experience:
Extensive experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and general maintenance is required.
Supervisory experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care (LTC) setting is preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay focused in high-pressure situations.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff, vendors, and leadership.
Proficiency with MS Office and basic computer systems for record-keeping, reporting, and communication.
Knowledge of Life Safety Code, DOH regulations, CMS standards, and OSHA safety guidelines.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move equipment, manage physically demanding tasks, and be on your feet for extended periods of time. Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations and be on call when necessary.
