Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Infection Preventionist (IP)
Overview:
The Grand Pavilion for Rehabilitation and Nursing is actively seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to step into a dual leadership role as Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) and Infection Preventionist (IP). This position plays a critical role in supporting clinical operations while overseeing and strengthening the facility’s infection prevention and control efforts in a skilled nursing setting.
Compensation:
Up to $125,000 annually, depending on experience
Position Responsibilities:
ADON Functions:
- Partner with the Director of Nursing to manage daily clinical operations
- Provide leadership and oversight to nursing staff, including scheduling and performance support
- Promote high standards of resident care in accordance with regulatory and facility guidelines
- Assist with surveys, internal audits, and quality improvement initiatives
- Review and follow up on incidents, ensuring proper documentation and resolution
- Serve as acting Director of Nursing when needed
Infection Prevention Duties:
- Lead and manage the Infection Prevention and Control Program across the facility
- Perform ongoing infection surveillance, data collection, and reporting
- Train staff on infection control protocols such as PPE use, hand hygiene, and isolation procedures
- Ensure adherence to guidelines from CDC, CMS, OSHA, and state health authorities
- Coordinate response efforts during outbreaks and implement containment strategies
- Maintain thorough and accurate records for compliance and survey readiness
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in good standing
- At least 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment preferred
- Background in roles such as ADON, Unit Manager, or Infection Preventionist is highly desirable
- Familiarity with CMS standards, F-Tags, and regulatory survey processes
- Infection Prevention certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
- Strong leadership presence with excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
