What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restaurant Host position at The Grand & Little America Hotel?
This is an PM part time position. Come work with us in our beautiful full service restaurant, Laurel Brasserie and Bar. Amazing hotel discounts, free parking, and enjoy delicious meals in our employee cafe. Candidates must be over 21 and able to communicate clearly in English (read, speak, write).
Host/Hostess responsibilities include greeting guests, providing accurate wait times and escorting customers to the dining and bar areas. For this role, you should have solid organizational and people skills to make sure our guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive till their departure. Ultimately, you’ll ensure we provide excellent customer service and a pleasant dining experience to our guests.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests to the venue
- Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists
- Manage reservations
- Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas
- Provide menus and announce server’s name
- Greet customers upon their departure
- Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options
- Maintain a clean reception area
- Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g. children, elderly)
- Answer incoming calls and address customers’ queries
- Assist wait staff as needed
Requirements:
- Candidate must be 21 or older
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the dining area for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to lift and carry heavy trays, food, and beverage orders (up to 25 pounds).
- Ability to bend, squat, and reach to serve guests and retrieve items from shelves or storage areas.
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment with high noise levels.
- Good physical stamina and mobility to efficiently serve a high volume of customers throughout shifts.
