Position Summary
The Security Supervisor oversees security operations during the graveyard shift while maintaining a strong guest-facing, service-oriented presence. This role includes overnight coverage of Sunlight retail areas, requiring a balance of safety, loss prevention, and positive guest interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise security staff and operations during the graveyard shift.
- Maintain a visible, professional presence in guest and Sunlight retail areas.
- Support a welcoming retail environment while enforcing policies and procedures.
- Respond to incidents, emergencies, and guest concerns professionally.
- Monitor retail spaces for safety issues, theft, and policy violations.
- Develop and implement strategies to protect hotel assets.
- Exercise strong leadership skills and self-discipline while setting expectations for staff.
- Coordinate drug testing for reasonable suspicion and post-accident incidents in accordance with policy.
- Monitor and respond to fire alarms in accordance with established procedures.
- Complete incident reports, logs, and shift documentation.
- Communicate and coordinate with management and retail staff.
- Other duties as assigned by the Security Director.
Qualifications
- Prior security experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
- Proficient using a computer and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of security and crisis management–related laws and regulations.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Experience in retail, hospitality, or other guest-facing environments preferred.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently; strong presentation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
