Overview:
We are conducting a confidential search for an ERP/IT Administrator on behalf of a growing, innovation-driven organization. This individual will play a critical, hands-on role in supporting and maintaining the company’s technology infrastructure while ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient IT operations across the business.
The ERP/IT Administrator will support systems that enable research, manufacturing, and core business operations, with a particular emphasis on stabilizing and optimizing a recently implemented ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central). This role blends ERP support, infrastructure management, and end-user support within a collaborative, lean IT environment.
This position requires a highly adaptable, service-oriented professional who can balance day-to-day technical support with longer-term system improvements and technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
ERP & Business Systems Support
- Provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Diagnose and resolve issues across Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, and Financial modules
- Troubleshoot transaction errors, data inconsistencies, and workflow issues
- Support users with order entry, processing, and system functionality
- Partner with external vendors and developers on integrations, customizations, and issue resolution
- Assist with system updates, testing, and configuration improvements
- Drive enhancements to ERP performance, workflows, and user adoption
IT Infrastructure & Systems Administration
- Maintain network infrastructure, servers, and cloud-based systems to ensure performance and uptime
- Administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, and related technologies
- Monitor system health and proactively resolve infrastructure issues
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues across LAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN environments
- Manage system updates, patches, and endpoint protection tools
End-User Support & IT Operations
- Provide Tier 1 / Tier 2 support for hardware, software, and business applications
- Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and collaboration tools
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and secure system access
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including device provisioning
- Utilize ticketing systems to track and resolve support requests
- Deliver responsive, high-quality technical support to improve user experience
Cybersecurity & Data Protection
- Support cybersecurity practices including endpoint protection and access controls
- Assist in monitoring systems for vulnerabilities and responding to potential risks
- Maintain backup processes and support disaster recovery readiness
- Help ensure protection of company systems, data, and intellectual property
- Support compliance initiatives and evolving cybersecurity frameworks
Technology Initiatives & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with external IT vendors, consultants, and service providers
- Support initiatives such as ERP stabilization, barcoding enhancements, and system integrations
- Assist with hardware procurement, asset management, and lifecycle planning
- Recommend improvements to system reliability, scalability, and efficiency
Business & Operational Systems Support
- Support systems across manufacturing, warehouse, and administrative functions
- Assist with barcode scanning, labeling systems, and inventory tracking tools
- Support shipping and logistics platforms (UPS, FedEx, etc.)
- Help manage integrations between ERP, CRM, EDI, and third-party systems
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- 5–10 years of progressive IT experience in systems support, administration, or management roles
- Strong experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP systems
- Proven ability to troubleshoot ERP issues including transactions, workflows, and data integrity
- Experience supporting Microsoft environments (Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy)
- Working knowledge of networks, servers, and cloud-based systems
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and connectivity troubleshooting
- Experience supporting cybersecurity practices, endpoint protection, and access controls
- Exposure to integrations (CRM, EDI, logistics systems) and vendor coordination
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, ERP, and network environments
- Service-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, hands-on environment
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environments
- Familiarity with barcode systems, inventory tracking, and logistics platforms
- Exposure to reporting tools, data processes, or basic scripting (e.g., PowerShell)
