SUMMARY OF ROLE:
The Driver plays an integral role in the success of our team, our community and creating a place our residents are proud to call home. The primary purpose of this position is to transport residents to and from appointments and activities in a safe manner to destinations located beyond the premises of the community and to be responsible for the general appearance of the community vehicles inside and out.
Shift: Monday-Friday Day Shift, Full Time.

Essential Job Functions:
- Safely transport residents to and from appointments and activities.
- Assist residents on/off vehicles using proper equipment; operate mechanical lifts as needed.
- Pick up and deliver items for the community.
- Inspect, maintain, and clean the vehicle daily; ensure it is safe and operational.
- Secure wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, and belongings before transport.
- Maintain logs (mileage, trips, maintenance, expenses).
- Report incidents, accidents, and safety concerns promptly.
- Follow schedules and communicate transportation issues to leadership.
- Identify and address safety hazards; follow sanitation procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience working with elderly, ill, or disabled individuals.
- Basic knowledge of sanitation, minor repairs, and computer use.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license (meeting insurance requirements); age 25 .
- Knowledge of safety regulations (including DOT).
- Preferred: healthcare/long-term care experience and 1 year driving experience.
- No supervisory responsibilities.
- Exposure to bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and chemicals.
- Lift up to 75 lbs occasionally; push/pull up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and occasional stair climbing.
- Must communicate effectively in English and have basic computer skills.
- Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures and gasoline.
