About the Job

We are a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to improving mental health and well-being for vulnerable populations. We believe that everyone deserves support, dignity, and access to the resources they need to thrive. We're seeking compassionate Mental Health Promoters to provide direct support to transitional age youth (16-25), individuals experiencing homelessness, older adults (65 ), and others facing barriers to mental health care and basic needs.


What You'll Do:

Build trusting relationships with community members through 1:1 support, active listening, and consistent follow-up

• Help individuals navigate systems and connect to resources including housing, food assistance, healthcare, mental health services, and social support

• Conduct needs assessments to understand each person's unique challenges, strengths, and goals

• Provide emotional support, encouragement, and hope during difficult times using trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches

• Engage community members through outreach at resource fairs, community events, shelters, and other gathering places

• Make referrals, coordinate services, and follow up to ensure people successfully connect with resources

• Administer brief surveys and outcome measures to track progress and program effectiveness • Document services, track data, and maintain accurate records using our CRM system

• Participate in team meetings, training, and supervision to continuously improve your skills

• Collaborate with community partners, service providers, and other organizations to build a network of support


Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred but not required)

• Experience working with or deep understanding of priority populations: transitional age youth, individuals experiencing homelessness, older adults, or other underserved communities

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build trust and rapport

• Empathy, compassion, and non-judgmental approach to supporting people from all backgrounds

• Cultural competency and ability to work effectively with diverse communities

• Confident computer skills and willingness to learn data entry and CRM systems

• Ability to work independently in the community and as part of a supportive team

• Reliable transportation for community-based work (public transit acceptable with flexible scheduling)

• Commitment to health equity, social justice, and addressing systemic barriers

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries


Driver's License Required: Reliable transportation for community-based work (public transit acceptable with flexible scheduling)


Willingness to travel: Ability to work independently in the community and as part of a supportive team.


Work Location:

Salary : $52,000 - $55,000
