Duties
- Provide high-quality pediatric nursing care, including assessments, vital sign monitoring, and physical examinations tailored for children of all ages.
- Administer medications and injections accurately while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, and diagnostic imaging preparations.
- Support acute pain management, IV infusion therapy, catheterization procedures, and ventilator management when necessary.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, medication administration, nutrition, and post-discharge care plans.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Cerner to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive pediatric care plans.
Requirements
- Valid RN license with current pediatric nursing certification preferred.
- Proven experience working with children in diverse settings such as hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or home care environments.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform IV insertion, venipuncture, suturing, and sterile processing procedures confidently.
- Familiarity with pediatric-specific conditions such as developmental disabilities, neonatal ventilator management, or trauma medicine is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children and their families compassionately while providing education and support.
