Job Summary
The Busser plays a vital role in creating an exceptional dining experience for members and guests by maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and appearance of all dining areas. This position supports servers, bartenders, and other front-of-house team members by clearing and resetting tables, replenishing supplies, and ensuring dining rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for service at all times.
The ideal candidate maintains a positive attitude, demonstrates a strong work ethic, works well as part of a team, and is committed to providing outstanding service. A professional appearance, excellent hygiene, and a clean, pressed uniform are required at all times.
Job Tasks (Including but Not Limited To)
- Adheres to established rules, policies, and procedures of the Club while working scheduled shifts.
- Maintains the highest level of service and hospitality for members and guests.
- Ensures dining rooms, patios, banquet areas, service stations, and common areas remain clean, organized, and presentable throughout service.
- Clears and resets tables promptly and according to Club standards.
- Assists servers and bartenders with service-related tasks to ensure efficient operations.
- Removes used dishes, glassware, silverware, and linens from tables and transports them to designated cleaning areas.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of bus stations, service stations, and storage areas.
- Refills water stations, ice bins, condiments, and other service supplies as needed.
- Assists with the setup and breakdown of dining rooms, banquets, buffets, and special events.
- Polishes glassware, silverware, and other dining equipment as assigned.
- Assists with folding napkins and preparing dining room supplies for service.
- Performs opening, side work, and closing duties as assigned by management.
- Attends pre-shift meetings as requested by management.
- Maintains knowledge of Club facilities, dining venues, and hours of operation.
- Greets members and guests in a friendly and professional manner when appropriate.
- Maintains a positive attitude with members, guests, and fellow team members and practices teamwork at all times.
- Maintains a clean, well-groomed appearance and wears a properly cleaned and pressed uniform while on duty.
- Advises supervisors or managers of member concerns, maintenance issues, or safety hazards immediately.
- Anticipates operational needs and displays a sense of urgency in completing assigned tasks.
- Assists with moving tables, chairs, and other furniture for events and dining room setup.
- Maintains knowledge of emergency procedures, fire safety, and life safety protocols.
- Performs spot sweeping, mopping, and general cleaning duties throughout the shift.
- Ensures all work areas are left neat, clean, and organized at the end of each shift.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions.
- Previous restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
- Previous private club experience is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and lifting.
- Continuous standing, walking, and repetitive motions for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, and transport trays, dishes, glassware, and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to tolerate hot, humid, and fast-paced work environments.
- Ability to move tables, chairs, and other dining room equipment as needed.
