Job Summary
Growing Accounting Firm is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant for our Georgetown location. Candidate must possess a strong knowledge of individual and business tax law and be comfortable communicating with clients. This position will plan, prepare, and review financial reports and projects for clients. Tax preparation, tax planning, review of financial information and other special tax/accounting activities will be performed for clients.
Schedule:
Typical hours are 8-4:30 though there are flexible schedules, including half-days on Fridays, when outside of the tax season window. During tax season, Saturdays are required work days.
Salary:
The salary will be determined based on experience in the field.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare and/or review tax returns (including federal, state and local tax returns, tax planning, estimated payments and extensions)
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state tax filing requirements
- Communicate with clients during the tax preparation process to obtain needed information and discuss pertinent tax issues and final preparation results
- Identify client needs and tax planning opportunities. Assist with client annual, quarterly or monthly financial statements as needed
- Identify and research tax issues using various online software
- Assist clients in resolving disputes with government agencies, including audits and notices
- Prepare support documentation for tax returns as needed
- Manage high-volume workload
- Other Duties as Assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (preferred)
- 3 Years Tax Return Preparation
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with accounting software preferred (UltraTax, Thomson Reuters CS Professional Suite, QuickBooks, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience in technical tax competencies
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to build a positive rapport with clients
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
