Some college credits in any field with a commitment to enroll in and complete 6 hours of online or in-person courses in Early Childhood Education within a year of employment at Goddard (We can pay for this!) or
A Bachelor's degree in an early childhood field.

✨ What You’ll Be Doing
👶 Classroom Care & Learning
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment
- Engage with children through meaningful play, early learning experiences, and hands-on discovery
- Support each child’s social–emotional development with positive guidance
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities (Lead Teachers)
- Build warm, trusting relationships with families
- Communicate daily with professionalism, empathy, and clarity
- Partner with families to support children's development
- Work closely with co-teachers and directors to uphold schoolwide expectations
- Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and routines
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
- Create lesson plans aligned with Goddard developmental guidelines
- Maintain individual child portfolios and progress reports
- Support classroom transitions and routines with consistency and kindness
Assistant Teachers - Educational Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children preferred
- Ability to support a play-based curriculum and engage actively with children
A CDA or

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and meet DCFS licensing requirements
