Lead Infant Teacher Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for infants and young toddlers aligned with The Goddard School curriculum
- Foster each infant's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through nurturing, responsive caregiving
- Maintain a safe, clean and stimulating classroom environment that meets all health and licensing standards
- Properly lift and handle infants, including safely transferring infants into and out of cribs
- Supervise and mentor Assistant Teachers in the infant classroom
- Communicate daily with parents regarding their child's feeding, sleeping, milestones and developmental progress
- Maintain accurate developmental records and portfolios for each child
- Adhere to all health, safety and licensing guidelines specific to infant care

- Associate or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required; bachelor's preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with infants or young toddlers in a licensed childcare setting
- Deep understanding of infant development, attachment theory and responsive caregiving practices
- Shows empathy, patience and genuine compassion for infants and their families
- Ability to lead and collaborate effectively with classroom team members
- Strong communication skills with parents — daily written and verbal updates are a key part of this role
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children, including properly lifting infants into and out of a crib
