Role Description The Infant Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Phoenix, AZ. This role is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants, including feeding, diapering, sleep routines, and age-appropriate play. The Infant Teacher plans and implements daily activities that support early language, motor, social, and emotional development, while following school curriculum and classroom schedules. The role includes observing and documenting developmental milestones, maintaining a clean and organized classroom, and adhering to all health, safety, and licensing standards. The Infant Teacher also communicates regularly with families about each child’s day, progress, and needs, and collaborates with other staff to create a positive, inclusive classroom culture.
Qualifications
- Experience in early childhood education or childcare, preferably with infants, including knowledge of age-appropriate developmental milestones and classroom practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with infants, families, and coworkers, and to provide clear, professional updates to parents and guardians.
- Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment, including following health, safety, and licensing regulations and responding calmly and effectively in emergencies.
- Patience, empathy, and a caring demeanor, with the ability to comfort, engage, and support infants with diverse needs and backgrounds.
- Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role, including lifting, carrying, and interacting on the floor with infants throughout the day.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is strongly preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain), and eligibility to meet state and local background check and licensing requirements.
