What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant Care Specialist position at The Goddard School?
Our Infant Room team is growing, and we are looking for a loving, dependable, and experienced infant care specilalist to join our school family!
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, working as part of a team with two other infant teachers. We are looking for someone who truly enjoys caring for young infants and understands the importance of creating a safe, nurturing, calm, and loving environment for babies during their earliest stages of development.
The right person for this role will be patient, gentle, attentive, and comfortable with the daily care routines that come with working with infants, including feeding, diapering, tummy time, naps, bottles, and parent communication.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing loving, responsive care for young infants
- Working closely with two other teachers as part of a classroom team
- Following each infant’s individual feeding, diapering, and nap schedule
- Creating a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment
- Supporting infant development through tummy time, floor play, songs, books, sensory experiences, and warm interactions
- Communicating professionally and warmly with parents
- Maintaining accurate daily notes and classroom communication
- Following all licensing, health, and safety guidelines
- Helping keep the classroom organized, clean, and well-stocked
- Being dependable, flexible, and a positive part of the school team
Requirements:
- Must have experience working with young infants
- Previous experience in a licensed childcare center is strongly preferred
- Must be comfortable caring for babies in a group care setting
- Must be dependable, patient, nurturing, and professional
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday, full time
- Must enjoy working as part of a team
