At The Goddard School in Independence, we are looking for a dependable, flexible, and engaging Resource Teacher to support classrooms across our school, from infants through Pre-K (6 weeks–6 years). No two days in this role are exactly the same. Our Resource Teachers play an important part in supporting classroom flow, helping teachers, assisting with transitions and routines, and creating a calm, safe, and positive environment for children throughout the school.
This position is also a great fit for someone studying education, child development, psychology, or a related field who wants meaningful hands-on experience in early childhood education.
What You’ll Do
- Provide classroom support across multiple age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschool, and Pre-K
- Step into classrooms as needed to support ratios, breaks, lunches, and classroom coverage
- Help with transitions, nap routines, bathroom support, and daily classroom flow
- Assist teachers with activities, classroom organization, and special projects
- Build positive relationships with children throughout the school
- Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment
- Follow classroom routines, school procedures, and licensing and safety guidelines
- Be a supportive and dependable team member who helps wherever needed

Requirements
- Experience working with children is helpful, including babysitting, nannying, camp, daycare, classroom, or similar experience
- Must meet state childcare licensing requirements, including background checks and required training
- Ability to be active and engaged throughout the day, including floor play, lifting, outdoor time, and moving between classrooms
Schedule Options
Part-Time Options
- 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Additional part-time options may include:
- 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM
- 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Full-Time Options
- 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- 8:45 AM – 5:45 PM
Please note: We are not hiring for 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM, or 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM shifts.
Pay: $15.00 - $16.50 per hour
