What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director position at The Goddard School?
About the Role
Are you a passionate education leader ready to make a real impact? As Director, you'll be at the heart of a thriving early childhood community — shaping program excellence, championing quality, and helping families feel confident that their children are in the best possible hands.
This is a role for someone who leads with purpose. You'll work alongside a dedicated On-Site Operator and administrative team, bringing consistency, care, and high standards to every classroom, every family interaction, and every decision you make.
What You'll Do
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Lead weekly internal Quality Assurance reviews, ensuring every classroom reflects the gold standard of Goddard, NAEYC, and DCYF expectations.
- Champion child safety through daily and monthly playground checks and prompt resolution of any concerns.
- Oversee children's and faculty file audits, keeping records airtight and families informed.
- Partner with families on allergy and medication documentation — because the details matter.
- Support teachers through meaningful feedback on Early Achievers submissions, helping them grow and succeed.
Program & Curriculum Leadership
- Be the bridge between families and the program — listening, responding, and ensuring every concern is met with care and professionalism.
Operations & Enrollment
- Drive enrollment growth through compelling tours, thoughtful follow-up, and strategic conversion efforts.
- Turn family feedback into action — managing Medallia reviews weekly and surfacing trends that shape better experiences.
- Build community presence through outreach events and local partnerships that put your school on the map.
- Bring your voice to admin and enrollment meetings, contributing ideas that move the needle.
Communication & Culture
- Foster a culture of openness, respect, and collaboration across staff, families, and leadership.
- Model the professionalism and warmth that defines an exceptional school community.
- Partner closely with the On-Site Operator to drive continuous improvement and staff development.
What We're Looking For
You're an experienced education leader who knows how to balance the big picture with the finer details. You bring:
- Senior-level experience in ECE administration.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education.
- A strong foundation in curriculum, classroom practice, and working directly with children.
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop a team of educators and administrative staff.
- Deep knowledge of education policy, accreditation, and compliance — and a genuine commitment to getting it right.
- A communication style that builds trust, motivates others, and reflects the school's mission.
Why This Role?
This is more than a job — it's an opportunity to shape the early learning experiences of children at a critical stage of their development, lead a team that genuinely cares, and grow your career in a supportive, mission-driven environment. If you're ready to lead with heart and excellence, we'd love to hear from you.
