Summary
As a Data Services Manager, the candidate will be responsible for data governance, data manipulation, data integration, data acquisition, building metrics and report generation. Successful candidate will be very hands on analyzing raw data, developing, and maintaining datasets, improving data quality and efficiency and deliver data-based insights and solutions. The candidate will own end-to-end delivery of data products, systems and data journey for given business processes supported by data analytics.
Responsibilities
- Leads a data delivery team onshore / offshore and delivers Business Intelligence metrics, reports, data conversions and mapping.
- Collects, clarifies and translates data requirements into documentation and conceptual design
- Lead ad-hoc business deep dive analysis and present findings to senior leadership.
- Elicits requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, tasks, and workflow analysis.
- Evaluates organizational methods and provides source-to-target mappings and information-model specification documents for data sets.
- Being accountable and own the development, delivery and documentation of data management and BI solutions (analytics, reporting, dashboard). Create roadmap, milestones for maturing the analytics and management space.
- Maintains a holistic view of information assets by creating and maintaining blueprints that illustrate how information is stored, processed, and accessed
- Responsible of working on data dictionary, data mapping, data lineage and data transformations keeping close attentions to data integrity, data quality and timely delivery of the relevant data
- Designs and implements data solution by inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modeling data with the goal of discovering useful information, informing conclusion and supporting decision-making.
- Design and maintain data models used for reporting and analytics by extracting data from structured and unstructured sources
- Help the broader team identify new features and business opportunities through data analysis.
- Create dashboards, KPIs and build data visualizations to draw up trends, patterns, and outliers. Modify existing reports, extracts, dashboards, and cubes as necessary.
Requirements and skills
- Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or information systems.
- Strong understanding of data engineering principles, data governance and quality processes
- 8 yrs Experience with SQL, SQL Server, ETL, SSRS, SSIS, PowerBI, SSAS software, systems, and programs.
- 8 yrs Experience with Agile, Python, Datawarehouse (Azure Data warehousing), Azure Cloud, TSQL, and R language software and systems.
- 6 yrs Experience with Data ingestion, Data processing and Data publishing methodologies
- Fluent in statistics, datasets, and scripting.
- Understanding data modeling, data schemas (normalized, flat, star, snowflake, etc.).
- Understanding database operations and optimization for RDBMS like SQL Server
- Experience in extracting data from structured (RDBMS) and unstructured sources (flat files)
