We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Classroom Assistant to support our elementary program for grades kindergarten thru 2nd grade. In this role, you will work closely with teachers to create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes literacy, numeracy, social-emotional development, and overall well-being. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help shape meaningful learning experiences for children while ensuring a safe and nurturing space.
- Assist the teacher with lesson planning and implementing educational activities aligned with curriculum standards
- Support children’s literacy and math development through engaging, hands-on activities
- Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior management techniques to foster a respectful environment
- Provide individualized attention to students with diverse needs, including those with autism or disabilities
- Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment conducive to learning and play
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to promote a collaborative atmosphere
- In addition, you will hold a key role in our after school program, working with students one on one during homework time and creating inviting centers for them after.
- Be a key employee in running our summer camps for students ages 6 to 9 years of age.
- Experience in education or preschool settings is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education strategies
- Proficiency in lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques
- Ability to work effectively with children of varying abilities and backgrounds
- Excellent communication skills to engage with students, families, and colleagues
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies and working with individuals with autism or disabilities
- Familiarity with literacy education, math instruction, and childcare best practices
- Prior classroom experience in private schools or daycare environments is a plus

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
