Help children feel safe, build confidence, and grow - while you learn alongside a supportive team.
The Goddard School of Souderton is seeking a patient, compassionate, and eager-to-learn Behavior Aide to support young children who need additional help with social, emotional, and behavioral development. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for someone interested in early childhood education, psychology, child development, or behavioral support. Previous professional experience is welcome but not required. We are looking for someone who is dependable, open to feedback, and excited to be mentored.

About the Role
You will work in a classroom alongside a lead teacher and an assistant teacher, providing individualized support to an assigned caseload of no more than two children at a time. Your focus will be on building strong relationships and helping children participate successfully in classroom routines, learning experiences, and friendships. You will receive ongoing guidance, training, and mentorship as you learn to understand children’s needs and use positive, developmentally appropriate support strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a strong, caring, and trusting relationship with each child you support.
  • Help create a predictable, welcoming environment where children feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.
  • Observe and document behavior patterns, potential triggers, successes, and strategies that help.
  • Support children as they learn to express their needs, name emotions, manage frustration, and build relationships.
  • Provide calm, consistent guidance during play, transitions, group activities, and other classroom routines.
  • Use positive reinforcement, modeling, and supportive redirection under the guidance of the teaching and leadership teams.
  • Follow individualized support strategies and share observations to help the team adjust its approach.
  • Encourage growing independence while helping children stay connected to their classroom community.
  • Maintain confidentiality and communicate respectfully with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Participate actively in training, accept feedback, and apply new skills.
Who We’re Looking For
  • A warm, patient person who enjoys working with young children.
  • An interest in understanding behavior and supporting social and emotional development.
  • A willingness to learn, ask questions, and receive coaching.
  • The ability to remain calm and caring during challenging moments.
  • Strong observation, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Dependability and a commitment to consistent support.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to meet applicable employment, background clearance, and training requirements.
Experience with children through childcare, babysitting, volunteering, coursework, or related roles is a plus.

Training, Mentorship & Career Growth
We are excited to invest in the right person. You will receive hands-on mentorship, ongoing feedback, and opportunities to build practical skills in early childhood behavioral support. As an added benefit, upon satisfactory job performance, the school will pay for the training and certification costs required to pursue the Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) credential. Earning the credential requires successful completion of the applicable certification requirements, assessments, and examination.
