As an Assistant Teacher/Floater, you will support our Lead Teachers in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for infants, toddlers, preschool, and pre-kindergarten children. You will assist with implementing developmentally appropriate activities, supervising children, maintaining classroom routines, and helping ensure every child has a positive learning experience.

This position offers the opportunity to work with multiple age groups while gaining valuable experience in Early Childhood Education.



What You'll Do

Responsibilities

  • Assist Lead Teachers with implementing developmentally appropriate, inquiry and play-based lesson plans.
  • Help create and maintain a safe, healthy, clean, and organized classroom environment.
  • Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and rest time.
  • Support children's cognitive, social-emotional, language, and physical development.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators.
  • Communicate professionally with parents regarding children's daily experiences.
  • Change diapers and assist with toilet training
  • Assist with classroom preparation, organization, and daily routines.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and school leadership to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and Goddard School policies.
  • Float between classrooms as needed to provide support throughout the school.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.


Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Genuine passion for working with young children
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative teaching team
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to learn
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced childcare environment
