Job Summary
We are looking for a caring, organized, and experienced Director to lead our school. The Director will oversee daily operations, support teachers and staff, and make sure children and families receive the highest level of care and education. The right candidate will combine strong leadership and communication skills with a passion for early childhood education and child safety.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the day-to-day operations of the school.
- Ensure compliance with all NJ DCF licensing, Goddard QA, and Grow NJ Kids requirements.
- Oversee staff scheduling, ratios, and classroom coverage.
- Hire, train, and support teachers and staff.
- Support teachers with lesson planning, classroom materials, and professional development.
- Monitor classrooms for safety, quality, and consistency, and step in quickly if issues arise.
- Handle family communication, resolve parent concerns, and build positive relationships with families.
- Conduct tours for prospective families and assist with enrollment.
- Oversee child files, health forms, immunization records, and staff files.
- Plan and run safety drills and maintain emergency readiness.
- Manage the school budget, payroll hours, and expenses.
- Organize school events and support PTO and community activities.
- Contribute to the school’s website, calendar, and social media presence.
- Partner with the Owner to achieve long-term goals and maintain high standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (required).
- At least 3–5 years of experience in childcare or school administration.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team.
- Knowledge of NJ licensing rules, Goddard QA, and Grow NJ Kids.
- Excellent communication skills with staff, parents, and community.
- Organized and able to handle scheduling, compliance, and reporting.
- Experience with family engagement, marketing, or social media is a plus.
- Teaching background or classroom experience is also a plus.
Compensation
- Competitive salary based on experience.

Pay: $45,695.04 - $59,847.79 per year
