The Goddard School® located at 2385 Kildaire Farm Road Cary, NC 27518 is seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Toddler Teacher to join our One-Year-Old Classroom.
We are looking for an experienced Lead Teacher, Preschool Teacher, Early Childhood Teacher, or Childcare Teacher who is confident leading a classroom, building strong family relationships, and creating engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young toddlers.

- Full-Time, Monday-Friday, No Nights or Weekends
- Lead Teacher Shift: 8 to 5

Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate:
- Has at least 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, daycare, or early learning program
- Meets North Carolina Lead Teacher qualifications
- Has 7 NC Education Points preferred
- Demonstrates strong classroom leadership and management skills
- Understands child development and developmentally appropriate practices
- Builds positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Is dependable, professional, and committed to excellence in early childhood education
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences using The Goddard School's Wonder of Learning® curriculum
- Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
- Support children's social-emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development
- Foster independence and positive peer interactions
- Observe and document children's developmental progress
- Communicate regularly and professionally with families
- Collaborate with teaching partners and school leadership
- Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and licensing requirements
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Teacher, Preschool Teacher, Toddler Teacher, Childcare Teacher, or Early Childhood Educator in a licensed childcare setting
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to independently lead a classroom
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a valid NC Qualifying Letter
- Ability to meet North Carolina childcare licensing requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in connection with the care of children
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a related field
- CDA Credential
- North Carolina Early Childhood Credential
- 7 NC Education Points
- Previous Lead Teacher experience
- Experience working with one-year-olds
Compensation
Compensation is based on education, credentials, NC Early Childhood Education points, relevant experience, and demonstrated classroom leadership.
Highly qualified candidates with 7 NC Education Points, CDA credentials, Early Childhood Education coursework or degrees, and successful Lead Teacher experience in a licensed childcare setting may qualify for the top end of our pay range.
