What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator position at The Goddard School Hampton?
We are looking for a motivated, self-starter for a Classroom Support and Operations Coordinator position. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills and have a clear understanding of a developmentally appropriate learning program for young children. In addition, the candidate will possess the ability to motivate and inspire others.
The Classroom Support and Operations Coordinator role includes:
Classroom Management (60% of time)
- Take on short- or long-term classroom lead teacher responsibilities as directed – director and/or assistant director will assign classroom each day
Classroom Mentorship & Support (20% of time)
- Provide in-the-moment classroom support for behavior guidance, transitions, and daily routines
- Mentor teaching staff on classroom management strategies and positive guidance practices
- Step into classrooms to model developmentally appropriate interactions and environmental setup
- Help orient and coach new teachers or assistants on school policies, expectations, and best practices
Administrative & Program Support (20% of time)
- Serve as a friendly face of the office: greeting families, answering phone calls, calling families for injuries, illnesses, etc.
- Developing strong relationships with both faculty and families
- Lead New Family First Days: finalize any last-minute paperwork (signatures, etc.), set up families on the iPads for signing in and out, walk families to classrooms and to kitchen to help and assist with the big first day
- Support daily operations.
- Lead the end of the day merging/closing necessities (from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
- Assist Owners, Director and Assistant Director with daily activities
- Comply with DHS Licensing Regulations and Goddard Health and Safety Standards.
- Complete monthly checks on Health and Safety protocols in the classrooms ensuring that the checklists are completed and all rooms are thoroughly reviewed
- Demonstrating effective organizational, time management and multitasking skills

Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children.
OR
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 3 years of experience with children.
OR
- An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 4 years of experience with children.
OR
- An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 5 years of experience with children.
