Overview
GEM Group is seeking a reliable, motivated, and hard-working intern for its New York office for Summer 2026 to help scale a portfolio company and support wider firm and deal team activity.
The role is centered on one of GEM’s core portfolio companies, a legacy media asset that has undergone significant restructuring and has now entered a phase of strong growth. Alongside this, the intern will support broader investment, sourcing, and execution efforts across the wider firm.
This is a hands-on role with direct exposure to commercial growth, financial planning, investor engagement, and live deal flow, with an expectation that the candidate will use modern tools, including AI, to drive efficiency, scale, and revenue generation.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Company – Commercial & Financial
- Assist with financial planning, budgeting, and revenue tracking
- Support investor reporting and research on potential minority investors to join GEM’s ownership group
- Support revenue generation across advertising, partnerships, and new commercial initiatives
- Help build a best-in-class AI-enabled commercial and revenue system, including:
- strengthening pipeline management and outreach processes
- improving data management and reporting
- using AI to drive efficiency, insight, and revenue growth
Firm-Wide Support & Investment Activity
- Through the growth of the portfolio company, support GEM in evaluating inbound opportunities across media, technology, and adjacent sectors
- Build and maintain a strong market awareness, including a structured database of potential deals, partners, and opportunities
- Support sourcing and development of investment opportunities for the broader GEM Group
- Prepare research, briefing materials, and initial analysis on potential transactions
- Assist GEM VP's on ad hoc projects tied to deal execution, partnerships, and strategic opportunities

- Able to operate across commercial, financial, and technical tasks
- Understanding of media, technology, and modern revenue models
